So I have my right turn signal off, and the spacer off. The issue I'm running into is that the metal rod with the threads at both ends doesn't have threads all the way through, so i can't tighten the right headlight to the frame of my bike. Any suggestions? Am I missing something?

let us know if it works because I was totally takeing a shot in the dark because I have never had a lightning and firebolts come with short blinkers.

it works ok but there is little space to work with on the lightining. i had mine with the spacer on the inside for a while and had no probs. with it. there is at least 5 different threads about shortening the front turn signals. check the "search" function [up]

I also tried to move the spacer to the inside of the fly screen. However, there isn't enough room to put the lights back on. the back of the fixture hits the plastic spacer.

I did search actually. And I couldn't find it so i posted a new one. Thanks to BuddaBuell and Firebolt020283

There are two tabs on the back of the headlights (lightning model) that you have to flip up and over the spacers that are now inside. They are just rubber and move up with ease.

wow I am glad to see it works. awesome looking bike. I love the 09/10 bikes because of the blacked out engine and frame.

Thanks, and thanks for the help with the mod, it was obvious what i had to do, just didn't realize it lol. Tight fit on the inside but it worked.

When I did mine I just bought another set of rear turn signals. They're pretty cheap and are already short. Just another idea. Obviously though your way was free.

yes free is good for me. I spent over 3thousand dollars on mods this winter...so no more money for me until next winter lol!

move the front to the back and place the spacers on the inside of the rear fender. I did this and it worked out great. I do have one (left rear ) i think that has the tiny cutout upright and i thought it may give me issues with condensation but i havn't had that issue.

I did this the first night I brought it home, before seeing this.

I switched the metal threaded rods from front to rear, and put the front spacers inside/under the rear fender so you don't see them. Problem solved!

Front signals are shorter, rear are the same as before, no extra parts, no hacking up stock parts.

I also took out the amber lenses. It's legal to have white front turn signals in Oklahoma. The rear ones are supposed to be amber, red, or any shade in between though.

Does anyone know if you can do this to the 2010 front indicators? If not I'll check it out when I have a chance.
