Could be pads or rotor...nothing else has changed since you last rode where there was no front end shake...no accidents or changes to anything up front?
Like Miami and 07 said, check your rotor, it could be warped. Wheel bearings could be the cause and so could suspension adjustment. Check the suspension first. Make sure both sides are the same. It's easiest to just retune.
is it every time you brake?
do you ever feel plusing in the front lever?
what kinda pads are you running?
the stockers are notorious for leaving deposits on the rotor and making the brakes pulse.
you can remove the deposits or change the pads.
how ever you choose to remove the deposits is up to you. you could leave the rotor installed and just use a green scotch brite pad, or sandpaper to it.
or you can remove it and go crazy with it.
Mine pulse too. I was just hoping the stem bearings weren't tight enough but that's not the case. If I go 5-10mph and just very lightly grab the brakes I can feel it pulsing slowly, so I know it's definitely the brakes.
Thanks Nilla! I hadn't heard anything about deposits being left. I'm gonna take a scotchbrite pad to mine tomorrow and see if that makes any difference at all before I put some money into a new rotor. Should I use any kind of cleaners on it, or just the pad?
Both nilla an upthemaiden. I used to have that same pulsing feeling too. I sanded the glazing off.. didn't work. New brake pads and glass beaded the rotor.. didn't work. Finally I sprung for a new rotor, problem solved.
So, try sanding, hopefully thats your issue. But it didn't work for me. [sad]
