Ive looked a grip but the information seems to be buried and lost. On an 08 is there a way to flash check engine light codes. Ive neglected to purchase a cable just space it out l every few seconds. My light came on for a few seconds on the freeway after a hard acceleration. Getting off the freeway my idle was very very low.

made this using the pins listed in the manual

Ok i followed that thread ive plebty of electrical by-pass wires just like thrstrmechs, ive double, triple and for the 15th time verified im using the correct pins in the connector. No flash. Okay i left the kill switch off, then cycle it on while connectors in place, popped my ignition fuse. Da fuq?! Did it with new fuse, same thing popped the fuse. I had to leave it at that busy night ahead but it blew my mind it was being so difficult. But when key cycled on with switch on, no flash.

when I checked my codes, didn't switch anything off, just simply turned the key to on, your CEL should flash quickly, then slow when a code is present and multiple times depending on code number, continuous flashing I believe there is no codes, guys correct me if I'm wrong, have only read the codes once before

crash: light still on after initially cycling thru? bike operating normally now? i've found that many a Buell will do what you're describing on decel and stop after a hard acceleration for a bit. seems it can load the O2 sensor heavily, store temporary fault, kick on light, disrupt idle for a moment or 2, then all back to normal and no code found. just mentioning this as i've run into it a few times on my Uly and Lightning.

This is exactly what i was thinking, but i didnt have enough time to test ride and replicate the conditions, happened just before getting home. But ima take it out today hope all is well cause its twistie time!!!

that's what has happened to me a couple of times after riding her hard, all fine until decel then for a split second she dies, light flashes, then she comes back to life...sorry crash, should have read through your posting carefully:p

Ok got it! This morning, kill switch on pins connected, key on, got 16 & 21. Battery voltage and exhaust valve. Checked battery cables, both sides loose. Tighten down changed a head light, road it no issues have arrived. I suspect battery cables vibrating loose was my culprit.
