Looking at buying one for the family and riding adventures. Anyone have any experience with them? any suggestions on mounting? can you mount them on the bike or helmet, and will they hold on at higher speeds like 60+. and best place to buy one.

Any Information would be awesome thanks guys

Ive done 130+ with mine and it stays firm. You can mount them anywhere depending on the mount. I love mine.

I have the older version, it works fine. There are a variety of different mounts available that hold fine at any speeds.

You just have to play around with it and find a position that will cut out some of the vibration from the Buells. here is what one set up comes with.

When I used the suction cup on the tank of my Tuber, it vibrated too much. The top of the helmet makes some wind noise and I tend to look around a lot, checking my mirrors and watching for traffic, so I think it makes for some odd looking video. I prefer the chest mount strap. However, this is just a personal preference.
I wonder if anyone has used the roll-bar mount to attach it to a fork leg?

if it was me, and i was using the suction cup mount, i would ttach some sort of safety line just in case it comes loose. You would hate to spend 200+ on camera to watch it skip across the road behind you:D

lol right? I have such bad luck I can see it now like bouncing up and down the highway lol. I go on a lot of group rides and would like to film them, and the scenery make some cool videos. can you upload them on a computer and use your own Video editing software?

Most likely, yes, depending on what video editor you use.
The files are .MP4, the video codec is H.264 and the audio is MPEG-4 AAC at 48kHz sample rate.

i have a go pro,

like said above, the vibration can make for some wierd video untill you find a good place to place it. I have tried my helmet, my air box cover, the front wind screen, and the rear seat cover. I also once tried putting it on the bottom of the front fairing upside down, but that didnt end well at all.

they are pretty good little camera's though, i use imovie on my mac to attempt to edit them (i'm not very good at it...)

I have mine mounted under the front fairing - worked good so far.

Anyone have some suggestions for video editing software? I'm running a PC with Windows 7.

I just ordered one :S so i hope i can find a good place to mount it on my 1125R. I also have a Mac Book Pro with IMovie software. hope this works well for editing the gopro video.

Here is a short video, showing a comparison between the suction cup on the tank, the stick-on mount on the top of the helmet and the chest mount.

GoPro has some editing software as a free download, but I haven't tried it. Being a Linux user, I use Openshot and Cinelerra.

i just got a GoPro2 HERO for Father's Day.

first thing i did was mount the suction cup onto my windscreen - holy hell, that thing rattles harder than Michael J. Fox.

sounded exactly like the first segment in the youtube video posted above.

i haven't tried to mount it on the helmet yet, but based on the video above, it's the best option (even with the wind noise).

i'm looking for a dedicated "GoPro Video" thread - if there is one, please point me in the right direction :)
