So I recently purchased a go pro to document mine and my friends shenanigans. My question is about the sound. It comes in the waterproof case which is the one a did a test ride with but there is no sound. Is it the case or is it hooked up to the tv wrong?

even with the waterproof case you should get some wind noise/noise at all.....

i'd check all your tv or computer settings

Turn your volume up:D

Like Iman said, even wth the waterproof case you should hear some noises. I just quickly looked the manual over and didnt see any volume adjustments.

Does it play sound when you play it back on the camera? I guess the first question is, do you have the LCD screen? If so, you'll hear audio coming from the camera! '

I didn't get the LCD screen [smirk] but I played to back on my tv and played the video with the volume at max and there is zero noise.

Hmmmm, not sure what's going on with it. Definitely should be playing audio. Did you try filming anything outside of the waterproof case?

take the file off and put it on your computer. If that doesn't work, drag the clip into a video editor. Then your'e be able to see the video and audio tracks clearly.

yeah, try it on the computer first.

if you strapped it on your helmet and went for a ride, all you're gonna hear is nasty wind noise, even with the waterproof case...

ok so i got the file off onto the computer and there is audio. its not that bad of wind noise in the waterproof case until i get up to 60. but i cant seem to get my piece of **** 6 year old lap top to load the file onto youtube [down]

before i load any videos onto youtube, i'd like to learn how to edit my videos.

unless i specifically take a 50-60 second video for ***** and giggles.

thats all i did. i took a couple minute ride from my house to my parents to test the gopro. i just wanted to show my buddy the quality.

Nice! [i saw your link before you pulled it!] Hey, if you guys have questions or want advice on video editing (technique/software/tips/effects/music) I may be able to answer some of them. I am not an expert, but I have experience.

It's been almost 2 years since I put together that BUELL 12:03 video, and I've learned a lot.

Ask away, or start a new thread specifically for video advice if you'd like.

Zeroflat, you'r computer probably came with Windows live movie maker, or iMovie. There are ok for very basic editing. You will learn and exhaust them very quickly. These are great starters.

If you are looking at more powerful options. Sony Vegas Pro and Adobe Premier are common choices serious amateur and professional filmmakers. I strongly recommend Sony Vegas Pro, simply because it is intuitive. That is what I use.

that video is SIIIIIIIIIIICK !!!!!

can you just get one editing program and do the basic things such as slow motion, speeding up video, cropping videos and adding music ??

Yeah, those tools are going to be part of any video editing package (to some extent). The more basic programs will be limited (only .5, 1 or 2 times the speed). Also, many of them only have 1 second resolution for clipping. So you can only make a clip 1, 2 3, .... seconds long. I reallllly recommend jumping right in to Vegas or a similarly good program that allows you frame by frame editing.
