going to buy an XB... 9 or 12?

I think i am finally going to buy an XB-S.... Dont know if i should buy a 9 or 12? I already have my X1 (1200), so i keep thinking... maybe buy a 9 to just have a 9.

Ive read some people like the 9s better because they rev higher? But others like the 12....

I prefer the look of the 12 because i like the darker frame, but my plan is to do a full strip down of the bike and powdercoat.

A guy local to me has a 9S for sale for $3K with 12K miles... I was thinking about offering him $2500 or maybe even less and see what he says. My buddy just bought a 04 12S with 2K miles for $3400!

9's are cheaper and rev higher.
12's are more expensive and have slightly more power.
....but I have a 9 and you better damn well believe its fast. Haha you'll be happy either way you go!

In my opinion theirs not a huge diffence the two. My 9R was perfect but I was always looking for more power. But I think thats the case with my 12S as well. I think a 9s with a 1050 kit would be a happy medium. [up] $2500 would be a good deal and hard to pass up IHMO. Good luck on your decision.

I just got a 2003 XB9s yesterday. (old bike was a 2000 M2) It doesn't produce the same evil grin when I jump on the throttle but I will say it seems much more comfortable at highway speeds and handling is much better.

I have an XB9 and an S3, and to me, there is a big difference in power delivery below 4000 rpm, but in the mountains, the 9 is perfectly happy above 4k, all day long.
