I've been reading a lot of motorcycle travel books over the past few years. Mostly books about long distance travel, like Ted Simon. Anyway, I came across a book called Around the World on a Motorcycle 1928-1936. I highly recommend it. It's fascinating. 170,000 kilometers over 8 years on a 1922/23 Harley J model with sidecar before most of the world had roads made for any motorized vehicle. Author is Zoltan Sulkowsky.

Yea Cooter. You turned me on to Two Wheels thru Terror, another good one. These guys outrun Arabian bandits on Horseback thru the dessert, visit the most remote countries on the globe, meet strange people, are welcomed most everywhere. It's quite a snapshot of the world in the 20s and 30s by motorcycle. They're Hungarian, but the translation is outstanding.
