I have been tinkering with an idea for a GPS / GoPro camera mount for my Bolt. Here's what I've come up with so far. It's a piece of alu plate I had in my scrap bucket. Close to .250 think but pretty soft so it was fairly easy to bend. Pattern shape is sort of like a ping pong paddle with some bends in the handle. Polished it up some after bending so it would look better and make a good surface for the suction cups on my mounts. Mounted it in the mirror bolt hole on my clutch lever assy.
Anyone else done anything like this? What do you think?

I like it! Have you tested it out for vibrations coming off the mirror mount?

I like the idea!![up]

The little GPS I have is not water proof. It's an entry level TomTom. If caught in the rain, I'd either just move it into my backpack or cover with a plastic ziplock. Still need to bring power up for it as well.

I have not tried to do a movie yet. I did just mount the camera and crank up the bike. Wow.... I didn't realize just how much it shook. The tall plastic GoPro mount doesn't seem to be the most stable either...
Going to have to do a little more head scratching I think.

That's a cool idea. You can help minimize vibration by placing some stiff foam between the top of the left shock and your aluminum base. That will help with vibration at speed. At idle I would think nothing will help. Even foam will not stop the low RPM ossillation.[up]

Great idea... What about using the lower gopro mount... Might help a little?

Thanks for the great ideas!
Looks like I'm going to have to build a more stable GoPro mount. The shorter one helps, but isn't high enough to look over the windshield.
The foam idea helped allot though. Might see if I can find a small chunk of rubber to wedge in there for a try as well.
Back to the shop. Going to have to dust off my welding skills a little :) This mount will not be flexing!

Pic's once I get something nailed down that works.
