I've searched, but cant find anyone who has done this on the forum, but would it be possible to swap the H-7 bulbs to H-4? I know that the socket is different, but it should be an easy wiering job.

Has anyone tried?

I'll check what's in mine is that high and low in the same bulb? That's what mine is so I have 2 lights burning all the time

Thanks tarvis. Yes, H-4 is high and low in same bulb. That's just what I'm after. High and low in both lamps at the same time.

The down side to this mod would be that the high beam reflector is physically different from the low beam. You will have one side always brighter.

I'll check it out this weekend when I get off graveyard and have a chance to look and see

jon- Switching reflector housings would work for the cutoff area. And yes, HID's in both high and low have the same problem with brightness difference. I made glare shields for my car when I converted it (70 Chevelle) and it helped A LOT! If anyone wants a DIY for glare shields, let me know and I'll post a sketch. It's easy as hell.

Here's a Paint sketch of what I made out of .050 aluminum sheet. Just drill the base of your HID's or H4 bulbs to accept small self tapping screws (got mine at a hobby shop).

Use a 13mm deep socket to curl the aluminum around. Seemed to be a good radius. There's no measurements as each bulb type is different in length and width. I'm here to answer any questions.
