Anyone try LED replacement headlights? Saw them on another forum.

I have the cyclegear house brand, speedmetal. They work great in my opinion...nice and bright, just gotta cut the rubber boot out a bit to fit the bulb and leave room for cooling. Ill try to snap a few pics later today.

Looks pretty interesting, I wonder if they are actually manufacturing in the US. If you pick some up be sure to write a review on them.

I have HID's on my one bolt and was seriously considering getting LED's for my other one. I saw decent priced high lumen quality looking kits on eBay........PLEASE keep us updated

Im assuming that lumen count has ALOT to do w brightness, last week I bought a new headlamp for my hardhat and wound up getting a model w 200 lumens the difference between the 200 and 120 was astonishing.......I can only imagine what 6000 lumens would be like on a bike.

Well, I ordered a set on eBay. Will be here next week. I will try and post a comparison shot between the HID's on my one bolt and the new LED's on my other bolt. I will try to do it in a dark garage against the door w both bikes in the same exact position.....

Make sure you that the settings on the camera are identical as well. If it is a simple point-n-shoot, it will automatically adjust aperture and shutter speed (possible ISO as well) to get the "appropriate" light levels into the camera. Light output comparison pictures are best made with a camera where all settings can be manually set so that the camera setting differences do not skew the results.

Looking forward to the comparison though!

We have a Fuji finepix s4400 if I'm not mistaken, I'm BAD w cameras so I'm sure it will b a disaster....lol....but I'll see what I can do.

Save your money boys and buy a less expensive set of HID's these will not fit without somehow moving the bundle of wires on both sides that go to your handle bar controls.......and these things get HOT on the cooling fins, so if somehow wires did move and touch the fins the wires WILL melt. Besides all that, the light was nowhere near the output of my 10k HID's on my white bolt.......WHAT A JOKE....LESSON LEARNED BOYS

When you look for led's, make sure you check the lumens output. Make sure you get them from a reputable source. The saying you get what you pay for applies to most situations. There are good ones out there. We use them at work, but I have yet to find a great high/low kit.

Hey Shawn, they were from a pretty good source, the lumen count was 7000 total between both bulbs, and these were allegedly the newest kind out there w no ballasts. Again, my money goes to HID......literally a night and day difference. It's my ass on the line in the morning when it's pitch black on the freeway going to work and my 10k HID's COMPLETELY put my mind at ease in terms of seeing and being seen......and Chicago I thought I was the only one that had boxes of TRIAL parts...lol

I installed an H4 LED Headlight Rev2 on my DualSport with great results. It is much brighter than the original halogen. The fin heat sink does not get very hot. http://stores.advmonster.com/headlight-replacement/

Advmonster sells an H7 LED headlight with a mesh heat sink. I've not bought one of their H7's nor do I know of anyone who has so I cannot recommend it. I do know that Advmonster has a reputation for good products.
