I've got the wheels out for new rubber. Are there any mods I should look into since I've got the space to work and time. What are the pros and cons to the mods?

Thanks

I replaced my bearings after reading some posts about bearing failure. The bearings that Buell used (and uses as replacements now) are cheap China made bearings. I replaced mine for around $80 with SKF bearings for peace of mind if nothing else.

I also went with Dyna Beads for balancing. Happy so far. No ugly weights![up]

Dyna Beads??? i will have to look that up. I am actually getting the dimond blue rims and new tires to put on my SS.

sorry about the thread jack.... I am not sure of any other mods... i would suggest deep clean while they are off.... its always easier.

This is great! I've always hated putting sticky weights on the rims since it's a bitch to get the residue off. Thanks for the link

Never heard of Dyna Beads, but here is a good video how to change a Buell tire and Dyna Beads.

I saw a guy who had some decals made and then clear coated over them. pretty slick, i plan to do it whenever i get new rubber

Anywho........

Got the wheel back on. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been good enough to ride. Question, I ended up getting a 190/55/17 instead of 190/50/17. Accident and all they had in the larger size ct2 tire. The tire hugger is a quarter of an inch away from the tire andhehe belt guard is an eighth of an inch away, am I gonna have issues?

did you get a 190 on purpose? Stock size is 180. I really dont know how much the tire changes shape while riding. I guess youll find out

Quarter of an inche is pretty close for that tire hugger. If you're a burnout guy, You'll burn that tire hugger up. (tire expansion)
