Has anyone done any work to their ECM after installing the Hawk on an 09 Lightning? I'm going to buy a K&N and the Hawk at the same time..and most likely the airbox mod. I'm not finding a lot of info about tuning the 08+ XB's

Hey Randy...did I say latly that you rock. My bike is sitting in my rec-room waiting for the summer to come. -10C here right now and no snow to ride my sled either....live is so cruel.

My pipe is on the bike, just waiting for the rain to stop so I can pick it up. The guy at the shop says it sounds real good. Can't wait!

After looking at the posts and doing some research on what exhaust I wanted to install, I decided to go with an exhaust from Randy Hawkins at Hawk Performance Mufflers. This guy is fricking amazing. He is the nicest and most accomodating person you will ever get the pleasure of talking to. I had tons of questions that he answered patiently and with consideration and I am so amped to get my new exhaust. I have no doubt it will be all I wanted and if you really want to work with a gentleman of quality, then you really need to give Randy a call.

Can someone post a pic of an exhaust hes done for an r or cr. I'm really curious to see what hes doin on those bikes. Thanks!

I know he was considering (or working on) developing pipes for 1125's but I'm not sure what the status of that is???

Randy was able to turn my pipe around in a day! I'm waiting on the mail man now =P but Randy's customer service is off the chart. It's like I was dealing with a close friend, he's amazingly helpful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help out a fellow Buell rider! I can't wait to get it back on my bike so I can pay the man, he deserves it for all the help and tips he's given me!

I guess I am still in procrastination mode. Plus I need to get my pipe off and into my Jeep without "The Boss" noticing. I'll have to make it a "home depot" trip and go by the UPS store to pack and ship it.

I need to get my pipe off and in the mail to him, but it's too cold here. I'm waiting for some temps above freezing so I can get in the garage and yank the pipe off.

My garage is a chilly 40 degrees when it is 20 something outside. No heated. Just not wide open.

OK. Been only 120miles on the Muffler since Randy sent it back to me. Most of the miles put on by friend riding the bike during a warm day in Decemeber. I just moved the bike last week during a mild day into a under ground garage. I must say, what a ride. I got more thumbs up from kids to old men in their Benz.. Even had some kid taking pictures. The sound from the hawk muffler is amazing. SO crisp and clean.. During the snow storm that hit us in DC today, I started the bike in the garage and rode it around. Its 2stories under ground so the temp was around 45 It actually drew a small crowd drawn in by the sound. Police, neighbors, and whoever heard it had to take a look. I must say many thanks to Randy and his work with my muffler. I'm so excited for spring and riding season. Thanks again Randy! Look forward to talking to you again.

just got my hawk on yesterday. Holy crap- sounds like a bike now. i have not gone on my honorary ride yet but let me tell you. It sounds crazy good. Ill let you know.

I spoke to Randy the other day, and he does have future plans to modify an 1125 muffler. He said he will let everybody know when it is ready. I was going to buy something aftermarket, but after talking to him I am going to wait it out. His thoughts on what it will look like is what I want my muffler to look like...so I am very excited to see his product. And of course the performance and sound from Hawk mufflers are always top notch. So good news for all of us 1125 owners wanting something different.

One step closer. Got the pipe off and into my Jeep and the ECM out and labeled.
Tomorrow it is off to the UPS store at lunch time to ship to Georgia.

When I get it back I'll have it dyno'd and post the results.

Just for kicks I turned it over with the pipe off before I took out the ECM. Very loud. Sounds like a hog with shorties.
