HD hero camera

I was lucky enough to have my wife buy me one of these super cool cameras. Unfortunately i'm a little computer dumb.
I used to make movies using windows movie maker, but now the hero files do not work with that program.
If anyone else is using this camera, could you point me to a program i should use to edit, piece together video segments possibly adding music? I downloaded streamclip but it seems pretty crude. Thanks for your time, Chris

Have you tried Apple's Quick Time Video app?
