I have been searching but I'm on my phone and having no luck. Are there any threads with pictures about disassembling the xb12r headlights to respray them? I haven't removed my headlights yet so if it's obvious I guess no pictures are needed.

What is the experience with spraying the headlights to make them more reflective?

It's pretty obvious. Remove the fairing, windscreen, turn signals, mirrors, etc. There are I think 4 bolts/nuts holding the bracket that the lights mount to. Unhook the harness, and it's out of the bike. Then 4 phillips head screws per light housing holding them to the bracket. Then 4 more phillips head screws to separate the two halves of the housing.

I have a thread on what I did here, it seems to be good, although my bike won't be 100% back together until this weekend or so, so I haven't ridden yet.

I'm planning on trying to use something more reflective like mirror finish. Why the gray color although reflective I would think chrome would work better?

Yeah but chroming plastic is extremely expensive. There's a tradeoff lol, I wasn't wiling to spend like $600 on chroming my lights. This $7 fix worked plenty good enough for me. I chose the best paint I could find for this use. It says it's heat resistant and reflective. I've also been told that silver is the best reflector for lights(not chrome). Although most oem auto places use chrome so who knows.

If you buy rattle can chrome, it almost always sprays silver, not chrome, just FYI.

Has anyone tried the chrome for painting rc bodies? I used to use it when I race rc nitro trucks

I rode at night the other day and what I did in the thread above works great. A lot of light output. I just need to adjust my lights somehow they are not pointing where they need to be lol.
