Hello - Just got my Motorcycle License!

Hello, a couple weekends ago I took the Rider's Edge - New Rider Course and passed it. I then got the Motorcycle Endorsement on my Driver's License. Today, I am going to a Harley-Davidson/Buell Dealership to go and check out a 2008 Buell XB12Scg, which is the Bike I want to get because of its lower seat height. I tried out a Buell XB12Ss but I didn't feel really comfortable on it because of the seat height. I'm excited about getting my first motorcycle, although I use to ride Motocross Bikes but they don't compare to a Street Bike, I think.

Glad your looking at the Buells, they're great bikes. I wouldn't say its the ideal starter bike, but im a firm believer in getting what u want and pay for. Dont let the stealership get u for too much! And welcome to the site

Welcome and good choice for a bike. They are very nice and shouldn't give you much if any trouble at all if you maintain it.

I love my 07 Scg. And she is my frist bike, bikes are kinda like girls... If you treat them right they treat you right most of the time.... Holy cow, i didn't realize the amount of inuendo this analogy allows..... I feel a new post comming...

Any how, the Scg is an awesome and comfortable bike. Good Luck and Enjoy it. PS... Harley service is a big expensive rip off... look into a service plan. It will save you a grip in the end.

Thanks for the "Warm" Welcome Guys. I did go to a Buell Dealership yesterday and I did end up buying a 2008 Buell XB12Scg, in the color "Translucid Orange". The sales person took some money off the bike because it's an 2008 and the 2009's are already out. I am going to make Monthly Payments on the Buell. I go and pick it up this Saturday. I'm very EXCITED!!

When I was at the Dealership yesterday, I sat on the Buell and my Feet touched the ground Flat Footed. I'm 5'8" tall so this bike is the perfect size bike for me.

Whoo Hoo, glad to hear you got over ok at the stealership, I'll be getting a new bike next year so I'm almost as excited as you are. Enjoy your new bike man and keep your eye on the forum, tons of info to be had on here. Post some pics as soon as you can, I want to see how that orange looks off the Buell website.

Hey XD, Congrats! Oh man get ready for the best ride of your life! The first ride home is the awesome! Well yeah, you will have many great rides in the future, but nothing beats the rush of a your first buell ride.

Oh and have a lawn chair handy, cuz when you finally decide to pull into your driveway, you'll want to stare at it until there's no more light outside.

Im waiting one year, checking prices and getting an RC8 if they aren't too pricey. That KTM is so sick, I just dont think I can let go of my 12, gunna take some thought.
