I have been using the ipod ones but the sound quality isnt great and it has to be pretty loud. I am looking for some helmet friendly earphones with great sound and possibly noise cancelling. I have the $200 Sony ones but they stick out too far and are uncomfortable and I lose the rubber everytime I pull my helmet off. (if I can get it off, ouch)

anyone found some good ones?

I have the Bose ear buds and they work great. I have tried like 6 different pairs and these are the best as far as comfort and staying in your ears. The sound isn't the loudest but plenty good enough to jam out to some tunes.

Buy a Cardo Scala rider Q2. You put the large speakers in your helmet, and you plug your MP3 player into it

I have a pair of philips buds that I use now. the thing I like about them is they have a 3/4 earpiece that wraps around the lobe holding them in place.. all the other jvc/etc brands that are just buds kept falling out from time to time and would be annoying.
so far these are great. think they were $20. maybe 30 most at best buy

I got the tiny Etymotic ER6i buds. Awesome sounding, Suprising bass, and the only thing sticking out past your ear is the wire. Work great for me. :D[up]

Edit: They're like ear plugs....seriously. They seal out sound and All you hear is music.

i tried the marshmallows and they are ok. the fit alright but the sound kinda sucks. bass sucks compared to sonys but at least the rubber doesnt fall off. i might superglue it or try another pair like the etymotics.

i use the sony $10 set that fits over your head. Keeps the ear piece in place and is pretty comfortable. The band in thin enough that you don't even notice it. Not exactly audiophile quality, but it does the job.

Interesting you find the marshmellows don't have bass, I actually prefer those over my $100 Bose buds and on some songs they are actually too boomy. I have found they are fairly sensitive to insertion quality (who isn't) and I seem to have the best luck by rolling the foam to soften between my fingers first. Then I wiggle them to the sweet spot where they seal up nice. Big difference, might give them another chance.

I'd like to hear more on the bluetooth helmet. Anyone use them? Opinions?

I'd just add bluetooth to a normal helmet by using the Scala Rider Q2 by cardo. even has a stereo input for mp3 players etc..

if the battery fails in the helmet unit, get a new helmet most likely

Buellyses..I dont know anyone with the helmet but i do know the battery IS replaceable. There is more info (and a decent sale price) on the motorcyclesuperstore link listed above the picture of the helmet. The helmet is made by O'Neal in case you want to google it and comes in a few different color combinations.
Actually as Im looking theres an ad at the bottom of this forum for it ..lol.. Element by O'Neal "Fastrack helmet" $269.99

I'm not putting my life in the hands of a $270 helmet with bluetooth. That's just TOO cheap. Kajer and I keep saying, just get a Cardo Q2. It lets you put it on any helmet you want, it's noise canceling so people cant even tell you're on your bike. Listening to music consists of putting on your helmet and plugging it in. I've fussed with lots of earbuds, they're uncomfortable and they make sore spots on my ears. If you like that kind of trouble then go ahead and do it. I like comfort and convenience so $150 is easily worth it to me

yeah the marshmellow earphones do have much more bass since the fit is exact to your ear, but I like the Bose since they offer premium sound quality and most importantly they stay in my ears.
