helmet lock

Its my understanding that the 1125r has helmet locks under the rear seat are these something that can be used on another models? Anyone have a part number for them?

There is a small tab welded to the sub-frame under the pillion. I think it is part of the structure so not a seperate part number. There is only one on my 09 R.

one on my 08, just realized what it was for thursday night...im dumb. Just hook the metal ring on and put the seat on...that easy.

I put the Uly helmet lock on my XB12....it was pretty easy. I really should take pics and post it up.

I believe the key code is stamped on the back of the lock. If you can get it off a Locksmith could make a key from that code. Have a copy or two made from that key and use the copies. Keep the "original" in a safe place and use it to make more copies as needed.

They have been the same since they were having this discussion 7 years ago. It's not an extra lock cylinder. It's a hook under the seat.

there is of sorts but it is NOT a permanent fixture of the bike. it is a large wire loop that was part of all buell XB tool kits from the factory. it affixes to a hook under the XB model seats.

remove seat and look. on your lightning it is in small tray below the battery.

There is also an OEM buell option PN N1027.1AK helmet lock with keys. You will have to drill and tap to mount it. I have one still in the box that I've yet to mount, planning on top left side of swing arm behind oil reservoir. I bought it from ASB back in the day but the keys don't match my bike. Maybe ordering from Harley they can match the key though.
