A while back, I picked up a Buell Thunderstorm 1203 Engine. I was told it came out of a wrecked 2008 XB(r/s?) Anniversary Edition (white/blue/gold) bike. I bought it to use in a cart project and thought it would be a good option for a bright torquey, right drive motor and transmission. Additionally, I had hoped to convert it over to a HSR42 carb'd bike with an Ultima Ignition. Now that I am getting into it, it looks like I messed up - This engine doesn't have a timing pick up cup to accomodate the Ultima ignition...am I right?
I really don't want to get into the whole ECM/Tuning/Software/etc....thing - afterall I already have the Carb and ignition components - but I do not have an ECM or wiring harness.
What do I really have here? Can this be converted over to a Carb'd engine? Is it worth it?
Anyone interested in the Engine? Maybe it is time for be to move on to something else.
