Help installing factory bar ends!

One of my factory bar ends fell out some place, so I went to my local HD dealership and ordered a set. How in the world are these supposed to press in? I've tried pushing them in with my hand, to lightly taping them in with a rubber mallet. What's the trick?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

black plastic rounded caps? should press in with a little help...post a pic of what you have.

Yep, black plastic.

They're super tight. I can't get them to push in by hand. I'll try again this evening.

Do you have a heavy rubber mallet or even better, a dead blow hammer?

silicon grease or spray....it's all about the lube on both surfaces and drive it home with a rubber mallet
