I own a 2004xb12s -

This is what it looks like now - I am assuming it is stock (bought used)

I am looking into getting the knight drop pegs - either 1 or 2" -

1. Did some XBs come with lower pegs? I hear people talking about the stock 1" drop pegs ??

2. On the knight design website it mentions modifying the shifter in order to use the 2" drop pegs. How hard is this and what needs to be done?

3. Does 1" really make that much of a difference? Wondering if I should just grab the 2" pegs right off that bat to feel a difference. any thoughts/reviews.... etc?

Yes the scg have 1" doppers.

No modification needed. You will need to adjust the linkage but no mods. Take your time and it is easy to do.

If you aren't a big kneedragger and tall in stature then the 2" droppers will make your knees happier.

I put 1" drop pegs(from a ulysses IIRC) on my firebolt and it was like night and day. I'm very comfortable now where as before I was getting pain in my knees after a full day of riding.

I think lightnings and ulysses have the same 1" drop pegs.

2" would probably be better but I'm happy as is.

I'm 6'4"

cool - thanks for the responses guys - wish someone was selling a set of used ones :) these things are expensive!

ha I just sold mine, look on ebay the knight ones are way expensinve. I think mine were like $50 from a hardley dealer.
