It's the original full header system I built for myself, the 2nd revision of it. 1st one didn't fit quite right, had to rebuild the front header to clear the front tire at full suspension compression under a panic stop. I almost did an endo the first time it made contact. The rear is powder coated, I don't remember why I polished the front, the rest is just bare 304 stainless. The muffler is the original RT-3 can that was used for the exhaust shootout back in 2010. It's slightly modified from that to fit the current setup. The packing was checked about a year ago, it was all intact, so I stuffed it all back in there and kept riding it.

this thing sounds awesome, at low rpm (idle to 3500) sounds loud and proud. Mid rpm up to 6500-7000 the resonance mellows out a little but, sounds good. From 7000 and up I've been trying to figure out what it sounds like, I think I figured it out. A WWII P51 Mustang Fighter plane. The tone is different, but they are definitely playing the same song! Simply Bad Ass. :D:D

I always equated it to a small block built Chevy motor, maybe a 327 in a late 70's or early 80's Z-28 (I had one, as did my brother) and it's always been the sound I liked the most. Both of ours only spun up to about 7k rpm, but they sounded good doing it.

Hey Dean, old buddy old pal, lol. What is the chance of getting you to take pictures of the left and right sides of the engine on your RX the next time you have the fairings off? :)

Just wondering what exhaust your running on the RX?
