Hey everyone, sun was shining yesterday, and altough temperature didn't go over 5 degrees, there was no excuses to be made: the maiden trip of my new bike was going to happen. The bike is everything and more what I dreamed of, and I even like the sound of the stock exhaust( proubably the only one on this forum;-). But I noticed something, when the engine is cold, she suffers from hickups, it's seems that she's stalling, and for a fraction of a second, I have no power. This only happens in lower rpm, and only when she's cold. Is this normal, or should I have this adjusted?

Thnx,

Koen

koen,

let the bike warm a bit before taking her out...
start the bike (no throttle), let it run, get your gloves and everything on (no hurry) then gently ride down the street without hard accelerations.

you'll have these kind of things, especially during run-in...they will start to fade afterwards, but still with this weather you'll be experiencing this kind of thing when she's cold.
upgraded plugs will help...and is your bike on a tender?

my four wheeler does that, just let it warm up longer, if you try to accelerate fast while its doing that, you'll think you killed it.. then the front end comes off the ground.. not good, just let it warm up more..:)

The bike will run a lot smoother after breakin and do the breather rerout. And like Lefox said let it warm up those V-twins dont like the cold very much.

Man am I the only one that gets confused about how to do this breath re route? I really want to do it, but im not really mechanically inclined and dont wanna f*ck shit up.

What part of the re-route dont you understand? I was a little intimidated by it at first too, but got some things cleared up and just went for it. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be once I got going.

It seems like we've had this conversation before. Come on Thaloc, be a man and break out some tools! :p

lol U bastard questioning my manhood.... I'll get the rest of the shizzz and do it this week...
