It is completely up to you what bulb size you want. Any universal motorcycle kit will work. No one makes one that just plugs into your factory harness you have to wire it up.

I would keep it simple though, I just got a second high beam lens from Ironhorse.com so I have two high beams and Silverstar bulbs you can get anywhere...works like a charm. Much less money also and much, much easier to install. The HID ballast can be a real pain in the ass to mount do to very limited space under the fairing.

I've read a few forums threads about installing the HIDs and people are saying that you have to swap out a lens, and I'm STILL confused about why that is. Is it the depth inside the low beam lens doesn't allow the length of a HID bulb? Some people are saying just adjust it lower. And they say "it should theoretically work". I wanna know, WHO HAS DONE THIS CONVERSION AND HOW DID YOU DO IT? If you haven't done it, I DON'T CARE.

get a conversion kit en install it...as simple as that.

make sure you have a small ballast, so you can easily find a place to hide it.

You just put the bulbs in, tucked the ballasts and it was done? Both high and low beam lights work without lens changing? I see you did this on a Lightning, should I expect the same simplicity on my Firebolt?

it's the same deal, although it's a bit harder to place the ballast somewhere in the fairing of the firebolt.
so make sure you have a small ballast!

highbeam doesn't exist in xenon, the xenonbulb is a gas filled buld that needs to warm before it lights up.

Isn't it the lens type that makes it a "high beam"? One lens is for low beam, and the other is for high beam. I don't "strobe" my high beams, so shouldn't 2 bulbs and 2 ballasts work fine?

if you take an H7 glow bulb, you'll see that there are 2 glow wires, 1 for low and the other for high.

ok, you can more or less create that effect by with a highbeam mirror, like in the buell.

if you want 2 burning light without highbeam, you need a 2nd lowbeam mirror for the 's' and for the 'r' you need to complete lowbeam assembly.

For one thing, Firebolts use an H3 bulb.... which is a single filament bulb. I want the lights the same as it is right now, one high, one low. And when the the high beam is one, both lights are on, just one is higher than the other. So I dont see what the problem is.

that is why i said you need the hole assembly for the 'r'...but ok

you put a xenon in both lights
i never tried it since i would have the cops, angry frustrated blinded people and others on my back.
