I want to replace the rear brake light switch with a flush fitting single banjo bolt so i need to rig up a switch and was thinking of using a magnetic contact type one you know, lever at rest switch contact no brake light then lever pressed switch contact broken and hey presto instant brake light! do y`all think it could work? or any other ideas are welcomed! Thanks! :) (09 SS)

Thanks SEXT9 thats a good idea but to be honest its the one mod i have never really fancied on my bike, if the hose mounted a bit more out of sight at that end i could put the oem switch there but not where it is now! but thanks for the idea mate!

Thanks ztled i tried a few of those but its a real bitch to mount it out of sight but i may be able to do that and then shape the pulling wire around the footrest plate etc i better take another look at it! i think the magnet switch could work and be much easier to mount though hopefully! may buy a cheap one from china to try out and see?

How about a custom hose, like Russell universal hoses, that you put what ever fitting you want on. Them just use a regular banjo bolt, and t it off between the banjo fitting and the hose to go to a regular brake pressure switch.

Not to mention, you could use black braided hose and fittings, I know you like black....

Thanks AZ i will look into that it could be the answer! and surprise surprise i already have the black hoses and banjo`s! Its just dawned on me i am infact "CHROMEOPHOBIC" ha ha ha i will go check out that hose idea now cheers mate! :eagerness:

Tone you could try using a KTM rear master cylinder and KTM 90* brake switch, it hides it a lot better than the stock set up. That's how I did mine.

Hey team thats a bloody good idea! i wonder if i can buy a 90 degree switch that fits the standard master cylinder as i have this reservoir and the KTM one may not fit or the reservoir may not fit the KTM master cylinder? 111715105820.jpg

Thanks AZ! i will start checking this out, the Amazon one looks to be the best one of the two i think, thanks for starting the ball rolling!

Just bought this switch! (on the left) that way i can take the wires out of the way behind the footrest plate, not perfect but better than the standard one! trouble is that it doesn`t come in black so better dig the paint out! lol banjo.jpg

Will do thanks again AZ, i think i read it works for the brake too, if not i will just wear heavier boots to increase the pressure! ha ha i appreciate you help cheers mate! :eagerness: by the way its a $15 switch and $42 shipping so i better have read it right! lol
