So when It comes to electronic stuff, I will openly admit, my knowledge is pretty limited. Anyway, ive seen this part(s) on my bike many times before, but never really knew what it is? Just out of curiosity...What is it?

haha no, not the flux capacitor. Trust me, Ive hit 88mph a great many times, and still haven't time traveled.

i've got mine all apart now, and never seen it on mine. it have any writting or company names on it you could google? only thing i can think of is an alarm or tracking device.

are you sure you havent traveled back in time, and then back to the future? just something to think about.....

Haha nope no nasty ex's that havent already done there damage ;)

But yes, I did buy it used (from the owner of a small buell dealership, I have no doubts that he knows his ****), It seems to be connected to the ground, and the fuse...Its those two black pieces (they are connected to eachother)

Heres another picture of it without the battery/plastic in the way:

Again, (see the first picture I posted) there are two black boxes, on smaller than the other and connected to eachother, they were Velcro'ed onto the compartment...No manufacturers name, just a model name (searched it, no results..)

Im pretty perplexed by this...No clue what it is, but very curious

the more I think about this the more it bugs me...I feel like a GPS tracker is a good guess, but I have never seen one that looks like this. I dont want to disconnect it either, not until I know what it is/does.

could be lojack or an alarm system. have never seen lojack before but it kinda looks like an alarm system. but, idk for sure. what is the model number you found?

Audi post up the model number and anything else that might be of help, and I will do some research at work tomorrow see if I can't help you out... also can you tell where the positive wire runs?

i was thinking gps or traffic light actuator. but it looks kind of jank for gps and usually the traffic light actuators are just magnets.

So after looking at it further, It does have a FCC ID number, however, I search it and nothing comes up. Though on the device it say it complys with rule 15 of the FCC...
http://www.cclab.com/fcc-part-15.htm

Still not sure which of those things it could be, or what is was/is used for...

If anyone can help, the FCC# is IDILJU-O3U
and the part number is: 4301-0014-22
