Hot Weather lower body protection question/your opinion.

So i strongly agree with ATGATT but when it is 110 degrees this can get though. I need some new lower body protection. don't want to spend a ton but will spend what I have to because it is worth it to be protected.

two options I have came up. Please let me know what option you think I should go with, or if you have a better suggestion.

1.Icon Hooligan 2 Mesh Overpants

2. Alpinestars Bionic Freeride Shorts or [3] Icon Field Armor Stryker Shorts plus [4] Alpinestars Bionic Mx Knee Protectors (the knee protectors will be bought from a friend so they will be a bit cheaper than advertised on the site)

I also want to say this is just for around town and maybe a little bit of a spirited ride, If i am gonna go ride hard I am gonna suck it up and put on my leathers.

Also what is your opinion on knee gards and armor shorts under a pair of jean shorts? What setup will be more protective?

I have Fieldsheer mesh "four season" over pants .

These are my primary riding pants, and I've worn them over shorts, and they give plenty of airflow to stay cool. Also worked well in winter with the liner. The problem with the all purpose theory is you have to compromise with the fit. They are too tight with the liner, and too loose without. I don't need, or want to pay for multiple pairs, so it works for me.

I've thought about the armor as well, but like the ease of removing the over pants. Seems like you would be protected from impact injuries with the armor, but not from road rash..??

Yea, I am trying to figure out how well the armor will protect me... also i guess benefit of the armor is when it cools down a bit i can wear it under my leathers.

new delmar jack delta pro pants knox back protector sidi vortice boots handorid gloves all the time...sometimes its hot but worth it..and a*hard shorts nice product.

Nice setup!! When am going out to ride I look simular, however when I am going to comute to work and sit in traffic at 110 100% humidity... that type of gear(mine is black) not to fun... that is why i am looking for a little more comfortable for mainly around town.
