i think they said they are obligated to make parts for 7 years. as for running out alltogether i dunno[confused]. no accessories though like select seats or clothing, so get them while you can[up]
depending on your fiances, I have been buying all the wear Items plus all electricals. Then I change the part out ,put the miles on it figure it'll keep me ridin for a while w/out waiting for a part for 6 weeks or whatever it will be in 7years. Hopefully in the next two maybe three years Erik will come thru., w/a small American Motorcycle Dealership with fuel powered AND a really Cool Electric model sport bike as well. Mission & a couple other companys already have them (elect.) coming out in about a year & a Half . Look pretty darn cool Too! From the 14'000. to the 44'000. self chargeing model .I'll take me one OF each. For now though I like my Buells.
I have a 1992 GSXR that they haven't technically made parts for in almost almost 20 yrs (they went to a totally different water cooled engine in 93) and yet I can still find pretty much anything I need from e-bay or the aftermarket. I wouldn't worry too much about getting parts unless you just have to have all OEM parts. A lot of things can be made to work from other bikes as well as some Sportster parts. If you can find a smokin' deal on a wrecked bike (for parts) it might be worth picking up though.
I wouldnt worry about parts, 1 there is enough cross-over parts from HD sporty's, 2 there are still parts out there for Vincents, Nortons, BSA'S, etc.. also the after market will catch up to these bikes.
