I've been debating on painting my xb9r to blue for a long time now. Not sure which shade I would like to do yet, the bike is yellow now (bought it used). How hard is it to just change the plastics, maybe I should just get an extra set. The original looks nice, just not for me. What do you guys think?

I was just wondering how much you guys paid if you have had yours done?

Might luck up and find someone on here, Badweb, Ebay etc. May be cheaper to paint. Someone who knows will probably post up. Extra Set would run (according to Buell catalog):

Left&Right Chin Fairings = $84
Intake Cover = $176
Front Fairing = $124
Front Fender = $70
Seat Cowl = $40
Tail Section = $146

Total = $460

I've seen people buy sets of plastic for as low as $100 on the Badweb. ebay not so cheap. but not hard to find. Start looking, be patient and if you intend on painting, you can get onesies and twosies of different colors until you have a whole set. But Whole Sets are out there. You'll have the parts you want in no time for less than you would spend for brand new. Plus if you buy new then you still have to buy all the Decals/Stickers @ $7 for the left, right and front, and $17 each for the 2 on the Airbox. Then the Headlight Bezels @ $35 each. So if you want all the Buell stuff looking like stock, it's an extra $125 just for Iconography. and if you want a different color windscreen that's another $60. All told it's about $550+ tax for New stuff. Just a thought. Paint is cheap, but time consuming- Used is cheap but time intensive- and New is Fast but Costly. Do what works for you. ;)
