There are no used buells for sale in my area. there is one actually but it's an 06 at 7900 dollars with 2500 miles.

the dealer has a 08 for sale for 9995 dollars. should i just buy the one from the dealer or keep searching for a good deal somewhere?

Not bad if its mint. Got my 06 long for 7k total from a dealer with 500 miles.

9 or 12? Keep in mind that even though its 10k, unless you pay cash you will pay more than that with financing. Also, its up to you whether or not you buy new. Some people like the peace of mind in having a new bike, warranties, break-in etc.

I live in southern California and I held out for a good deal. So I ended up traveling to Las Vegas to buy my 05 XB12Scg from the original owner for $4,600 with 8k well maintained miles. So if your down to travel deals do exist.:D

I would say it depends on what model your looking for. Some have a higher resale value than others, eventhough they are priceless to their current owners, you have to decide what you want the bike for.I'm in northern Cali, and you can find many different models with low miles for 5k and under.Got my 03 XB9R with 3800 miles for $4000.Look on Craigslist, good stuff.;)

you should beable to talk the dealer down $1000 seeing that it is an 08 model with the 09 models price.... Id make an offer and see what happens

Just purchased a 07' XB9SX with 200 miles on it with the lowered front and rear suspension along with the original suspension for $6700.00.

Currently there is a 2003 XB9 for sale with 84 miles that states original owner for $5000 or best offer. Seems like a great price.

I would suggest that if you're not sure about how much to pay for a Buell. You should continue looking. I made a watch list on e-bay and checked every craigslist listing within 200mi of my city. After about 2 months I had a pretty good idea what the bike I wanted should cost.
You also need to consider what condition you want the bike to be in when you buy it. Mint/modified/average/rough.

Just picked up my 04'XB12S with 6400miles for $4800. I shopped for a while just to find this one, theres just not alot of Buells for sale down this way.

I bought my 03 XB9R just this past Janurary for $3100. So the deals are out there and mine was in mint condition with a full Buell race kit. The kid I got it from had no idea what he really had. He thought it was stock and it only had 6800 miles on it when I got it. Now it has over 10k miles on it.

I just purchased an '06 xb9sx leftover from Ocean City HD Buell for $6,000.00. Only had 5 miles on it. Drove it 360 miles home, and had a smile for all 360 miles. I stumbled across it while I was picking up a buddy a HD shirt, saw the price and gave them money down and told them I will be back in a week to pick it up.

Find a dealer that has a hard time selling buells and deal with them. There is a dealer 15 minutes from my house that has the same exact bike I just bought, but with 5 more miles. They are stuck on the 8,000 dollar price range. I told them I would save the $2,000 and drive the distance.

lol..Did u tell them the 360 mile ride was actually a plus? that u were saving 2grande and getting a ready made excuse to spend the first day riding....dealers...they just dont get it huh. When I bought my xb12R and my local dealer wanted $900 more than msrp..I called the seattle dealership right there infront of the salesman and they had told me they would give it to me for msrp..the salesman watching me talk on the phone changed his song quick. They make alot, I paid 10k for my '08xb12R and they only have to pay Buell 8k and change back on it...Stealership

yeah, when I showed up the salesman asked where the trailer was.....I said if I was buying the sportster then you would see the trailer, but I'll drive the Buell home. He said that is is about 6 hrs away....and I told him I would have a sore arse when I got her home, but well worth it.
