First off.... I want to say if you have translucent plastics take them off the bike then wash it...
The simple green will make the plastic cloudy over time and water gets underneath and you will have to polish the water spots and haze off.

I wash my bike about every two weeks and it takes me about 20mins from start to finish...

I spray my bike with simple green...and let it sit for about a minute

I then power wash the bike... Obviously you do not spray directly into the bearings or on 2003-2005 left side scoop.

I then use a white towel to dry the big spots then ride my bike down the street

I then use my leaf blower to knock off the water inside the bolts and around the cylinder heads and rims... Why you ask because now I have a gardener and I have a tool that's going to waste..

I then use my white towel again, to get the water off

Then I grab my pig spit and spray it all over the bike except the plastics and tires

I then grab a beer and a seat for about 5 minutes and let the pig spit soak in.

I then use a microfiber towel and remove the pig spit..

I'll then use novus on the plastics and then wipe it off with another microfiber cloth

And in the end you will have a almost showroom detail on your bike

nice job, the bike looks great. I use old school bucket and rag, take the nozzle off the hose and low pressure rinse. afterwards the air compressor comes it to play and blow dry the bike off, especially all the hardware and such areas. bike goes on stands for wheel polishing....wait, don't have to do that anymore:D guess that can of never dull will sit on the shelf.

Walmart use to carry it here but they quit. Last time I bought pig spit, think I got it off ebay.

looks great squid and i've never seen that blue combo in person. really sharp.
electric leaf-blower a great tip. i like the rubber-tipped air hose nozzle myself for drying but leaf-blower is great.

Great IPA choice!! :D [up]

Oh yeah, great cleaning tips also. Hadn't heard of Pig Spit before, at least not this kind, and leaf blower is a "why didn't I think of that" idea. [smirk]:p

love the beer pic [up]
i do the same thing with dawn and honda spray. works great! too bad i dont have a leaf blower tho. riding it around the block sure does help tho.

How long do the restorative effects of the Pig Spit last before you need to re-apply it? Does it do any long-term deterioration to black plastic or vinyl (like Armor All tends to)?

It last awhile... Around 2-3 weeks depending on weather and dust. It's kinda cool too, because it does not really leave a film like armor all and I've been using it for over 10 years and have no complaints... Besides paying $12 a can.
