I bought an 03 Buell Blast a while ago that had some damage to the front end. got all of it fixed and working, and for a while the bike ran fine. I unfortunately neglected it through the fall and winter months and now, It either wont start, or have a hard time idling at needs a constant throttle to keep from dying.

I've read many other threads related to the problem. I replaced the intake boot with a new one, new spark plug and just finished an oil change on it. I even tried tweaking the idle setting on the carb, but still no dice. It wants to turn over, but the engine just wont kick. im fairly new at working on motorcycles and after trying everything ive read and seen from this website and manuals, im not sure what im missing.

Any help or advice is appreciated. Thank you

If it sat for months with fuel in it, then your carb is all gummed up.

Remove carb
Remove fuel bowl
Spray everything clean with carb cleaner
Re-install fuel bowl
Re-install carb
Replace fuel with fresh
Start it up

!!!DO NOT REMOVE ANYTHING ELSE!!!

Spray everything clean with carb cleaner
[up]Electric guitar string works great for de-clogging jets because it's rigid & it comes in gauges which can be matched to the jet size so you can be confident you won't damage it while cleaning...

Change your plugs also and put some fuel cleaner in tank, along with cleaning carb!
