So my buddy installed a load equalizer on my bike to stop the turn signals from blinking fast when i went to get it inspected (hes a harley master tech and owns a Buell). He did it for free so i wasnt complaining. The install was perfect but the load equalizer took a crap yesterday after 2 weeks of it working perfectly. Anytime i would hit the left turn signal it would blow the fuse and i would loose all power to the dash and tail lights. So knowing that the only thing that was new on the bike was the load equalizer i cut it out. After cutting it out the fuse quit popping but heres the confusing part. My turn signals still blink at normal speed as if it were still attached....

That is a bit puzzling! I just replaced the relay flasher with one from "Poop Boys" that was made for LEDs for $11...Plug & play!

I have no answer to your original issues except to say, check each light carefully and their grounds, the system works on load, and if theres a load or bad ground elsewhere,, it might have fooled your flasher unit temporarily.

My post/reply is just in general to complain about load equalizers. Every bike i have ever worked on (and i used to have a shop and worked in others) those F**K'in load equalizers have been a serious PIA. Especially the
"Badlands" or "Badlander" brands... I looked them up one day and they even admit many of their units were less than optimal but allegedly over the years have made improvements. Bah!,, not that i have seen.

I have yet to run into any of these alleged load equalizers that last more than a year, or worse,, that dont cause other wiring and electrical issues.

If someone has good feeback on some that seem to work, and work well,. and LONG TERM,, id love to hear about them. Im sure its possible there are some good ones and with all the LED stuff out there more and more, its gonna be a requirement to have something that works.

I know tell me about it man. You should stop over to the service desk next time and say hello :)

^ i knew about the flasher mod :) He just did it for free so i wasnt complaining. Saves me the time of doing it myself. I was just baffled by the fact that the part was removed and the turn signals act like its still there.
