Is it worth the money and time?

I'm thinking about making a bobber with my 2007 xb9sx, how much time and money do you think it will?

Been thinking about it for some time now.

Depends on your definition of a bobber.
All your electronics are located in the tail section, right? So the hard part has already been done.
Post some pics of what you're thinking of doing and then research what parts you'd need for the build. That should give you a good indication of cost.
How good are your fab skills? And do you possess the tools to make your vision happen?
Tools can be expensive and time is priceless.

Only you can answer whether it’ll be worth the money & time.

I’d suggest that considering some of these points will help you decide:
• Do you have a concept? I believe there are better donor bikes to make a bobber out of (goose mentioned a Sportser which I agree would work well)
• How much money do you have available? Do you have contingency?
• How much time do you have available? Is your time worth more to you in the garage or on the road?
• Do you have the space to do the work?
• Chickn already mentioned having tools & skills; do you also have the patience for a project like this?
• Are you prepared to end up with a bike worth much less than you invested?

This is the only answer. A Sportster would make a better bobber, more of the parts that you might want would be available and the Buell would be saved for someone who appreciates it.

I'm definitely with the rest of the clan......sportster!!!!! The aftermarket for sportsters is just insane, company's like led sled etc. Your buell is a more sport type themed machine and it wouldn't really mend well for your vision, cafe build w a buell, hell yeah but not a bobber...good luck on your quest

I came to a final decision literally 2 hours after this post. I'm just going to keep it the way it is lol. My buddies and I were throwing around ideas last night over some beers.
