That will work with the tubers and the +04 xb's, but like upthemaiden quoted you will need to have/make an adjustable idler.

I dare say this is tempting me, and I may try doing something when I have a bit more moolah

I want to find a 26 tooth for my blast but their few and far between and expensive. If I every get around to it I'm just going to make my own.

I put a 26 tooth Baker on my 2007 today and indeed the belt was anout 3/4 of an inch too long. I cannot find a slightly shorter belt so I went with adjustable idler.

I knew this might happen so I just ordered adjustable the idler from Trojan Racing in England and a new 135 tooth belt from ASB. It was an expensive mod and in all set me back $520($170. US for the idler, $150. for the pulley and $200 for the belt with shipping and tax).

My Super TT was a torque monster before with a race ECM and Jardine pipe, it should really rip now with the lower gear and the lighter pulley. I look forward to reporting what my experiences are with the lower gear.

I have an 07 STT, and was thinking about doing the same to mine. Be sure to post up your before and after butt dyno results :) Where are you located?

Old thread but bump for a question to "unionthug" the belt isn't technically needing to be replaced to do this correct? You did it for good measures?

How bad will this affect highway cruising, especially between the stock 27Tooth front, and aftermarket 29T and 30T?
I'm asking because i have my bike torn apart to replace the belt and either want to do a chain conversion or upgrade the pulleys to make it more "FUN".. Im not on the highway much..

chain is definitely going to be the better option, it's more versatile if you're going to be switching out more often for fun.

Slick- I think he got a 3 tooth smaller belt because there was too much slack with the stock

He got a tighter belt, I think the adjustable tensioner made it so he wouldn't have too much tension on it.

I installed XB9 primary drive on my XB12 was much cheaper but it is hard to keep the front end down and lost about 15 to 20 mph off the top end and eats rear tires like they are made of bubble gum. Love it!

I didn't see a 135 tooth belt on ASB's website,
03 XB belt is 155T
04+ XB belt is 128T
