Has anyone repacked their Jardine exhaust with stainless steel wool or any other material than factory? Seems like if you used a more dense material with the Jardine it is more likely to not brake apart as the fiberglass burns up.

I used FMF packing the first time it did it. Seems to be working fine after a few thousand miles.

I had originally ordered the repack kit from Jardine, but it was on back order and they wouldn't respond to my e-mails or calls (they never told me it was on back order). Finally They e-mailed me back after two weeks of asking where my kit was, and I just canceled the order.

I have heard that the best way to repack a Jardine or any fiberglass style packed muffler is to use a repack kit, but buy a piece of oven insulation and wrap that around the glass pack material, it is said this will make the pack last 10x as long as it should..... Tried to find the write up on this but was unable to find it.

Skip the stainless wool, skip the fiberglass packing. Use ceramic and pack it for the last time.

please post links to this material you suggest as i plan to tear apart my pipe, powder coat it and re-pack it aswell.

it looked like there was some sort of seam sealer in between each end cap and the main tube on mine. anyone get this? i could be wrong

Hmmm I've had my GP1 on fir over 5k now with no issues... I'm still debating on repacking it yet. Any suggestions?

my rt1 has been on for 9000 miles with no issue so far. kinda wondering if i should break into it or not. i mean i want to so she will stay running like she should but dont want to mess anything up in the process.

Stang, with the EBR combo and Jardine, what kind of changes did you notice in your bike. I know there is not much horsepower to be gained in these bikes, but there are lots of other ways to improve performance too.

I bought a moto cross repack kit. Cost 12$. Works good, restored power ect. I think u have to do it like every 5k though. I don't mind

yetiboy- i wasnt able to ride my bike prior to the exhaust change. when i bought the bike i had them put the pipe on prior to pick up. i did everything else though. the ebr ecm eliminated the decel popping and smoothed it out quite a bit. from what i can tell its a quick easy fix for a plug n plag situation. if i can find someone to tune my buell to its fullest potential i will be selling my ebr ecm. this past weekend on the dyno it made 87hp. honestly for the mods given i was expecting 100. the printout showed that my bike was still running lean even with the ecm. i wish i could afford to have it dyno tuned :)

Stang - I haven't added and exhaust yet, and had considered a dyno tune. You just made that choice easier. Not sure what pipe I want, but I have three dealerships within 80mi. that will dyno tune for less than the cost of the ECM. Thanks!
