Cooter: thank you for your input. Any information is very helpful. About 8 months ago I found a 1948 Indian Chief frame that someone had tried to make into a chopper at some point in its life. Sense that time I have been looking for a motor to put in it, and I really did not want to use a metric motor. Buell, Victory or newer Indian were the only motors I wanted to consider. The Buell motor is much taller then the original, but the back bone of the frame has already been modified so with a few more mods I think it might fit. This motor popped up for a great price and and was close enough (2 hour drive) that I just had to go buy it. At this point I only have part of a wiring harness. Am I to understand that any Evo style Sportster intake from 86-03 will mate up to the heads? Or is there a certain year-style that I should be looking for?Thanks again.
