Just Bought a Blast

Hey guys just bought my first street bike have been riding dirt bikes for many years now. Anyways I got a 2002 stock blast with 500 miles on it for 1400 the only problem is it is purple. I want to take the plastics off and just flat black them my question is has anyone painted there plastics and if so can I get some pics. Also what paint and did u use clear coat? Another question what do u guys do with the blinkers is there a tail that has the blinkers in it would really like to get rid of thoses ugly things. Any other mods that you guys do to make it more sporty look wise and profomance wise feel free to let me know really want to make this thing look cool and sound cool.
