Just brought her home the other day. It's a 2003 Buell XB9S with 7400 miles on it. Seems to be running well and the previous owner just wasn't using it. Since 2010 it'd only had 200 miles put on her. Today was the first day i got to drive her to work, she's going to be my commuter bike. Oh and I already started my modding...

After the first drive home:

Me with her after the first ride home, I'm grinning ear to ear underneath that helmet:

Removed Belt Guard, Mickey Mouse Mirrors (temporary bar end bicycle mirror on right now), and the rear passenger pegs. Still need to do a cheese grater chop and a few other freebie mods

welcome, I'm also running a bicycle bar end mirror and bar ends due to the Renthal Ultra Low bars inside diameter, used the ODI ones, fit perfectly.

Thanks for the welcome guys! Exhaust and several other things are on the mod list not to worry. Just got my metal bar end mirrors in the mail today and they're put on, look pretty good but not different enough to merit a picture upload.

I'll start a thread if i modify too much but i suspect i'll keep it fairly stock since it's going to be my commuter. Also, i don't feel like getting the whole ECMSpy thing going so that will limit my options for some mods.

Very cool. I love my 03. I would upgrade the belt system to the 04 style and a bigger throttle body of the later years helps a lot

is there a thread on how to do this? i'm always in favor of a better running bike and any extra power is a bonus! Thanks!

Belt upgrade would be changing the front and rear drive sprockets, idler pulley and belt due to the belts manufactured by Gates exclusively for '03 Lightning and Firebolt models that tend to snap/break. Newer belts are more dependable.
I'm running the original belt on my '03 with 55k+ miles on it and going, knock on wood:D also has race ECM, Pro-series exhaust factory installed. Major Mod done was swapping the "Low" suspension for the standard one. (yellow rear shock and exposed fork tube length). Now she sits like your bike.
