Hello, I just traded a 2005 Suzuki C50T for a 2004 Xb12R Firebolt. I didn't get a manual with it, but found the 2005 here. Question is there any major difference between the 2004 and 2005?

Thanks for any help.

WOW this bike Rocks!!!

Yes that bike does rock. And no really major difference the manual will work fine for you[up]

There are not a lot of major differences between the 04 and 05. I think the major difference that I can think of is the front forks.

Thanks, 2nd Day loving this bike. Still getting used to the brakes! lol

P.S. what difference in the forks?

Differences between '04 to '05 was the updated Fuel injection (DDFI to DDFI2) And upgraded Kickstand components. You need to look into the kickstand because it resulted in quite a few dropped bikes on the '03-'04s. - XB Year Models Reference

Here's where you can get the upgraded kickstand for the peace of mind: ASB Kickstand Upgrade kit

And Welcome to the Forum and the Buell family. ;)[up]

not saying your wrong but it is my understanding that all xb bikes 03-07 are DDFI2 and DDFI was for 99-02 x1 and s3 bikes. The only thing that I know of that changed on the FI system around that time was for the 9s and that is because they changed the throttlebody in 05 which is why the 05-07 9s use a different ecu than the 03-04.

They may be the same ECM, but the EEPROMs loaded on the ECMs are different.

To be honest, I can't remember my original reference but the '03 Bolt & '04 Lightning Service manuals both state "DDFI" and the '05 Service manual states "DDFI II".

Edit: Let me know if you find different for sure, and I'll update my link if it's so.

I will keep looking for the answer though it may not be until I get back to the states until I find the answer so I can go threw some of my old buell brochures and stuff I have in my collection. I was mostly going off of my understanding and the fact that the EBR web site labeled all of the 07 and older ecms as DDFI 2 to include the 03-04 xb9 model.
