My older brother passed away this past week so I decided to take the bike to PA for the funeral. Because it was a last minute trip there was no planning ahead of time as usual. Hopped on Bruiser at 8am on Sunday morning and off I went. Reserve light came on as I hit WV so I took the next exit, and the next, and the next. No electricity for the pumps. Couldn't go any further so I camped out 2nd in line at the station. About 2 hrs behind me another dude on a Harley pulls in. After about 5 hrs total for me at this point, his wife calls and says she got 5 gal of gas in Beckly, WV and is on her way back. He hangs up the phone, looks at me and says. "She only went 50 miles for gas and I don't need all of it, you can have half of it.
Thanks to the kindness of a complete stranger I was able to complete my trip and not be stranded overnight in WV. I have always tried to pay it forward and this past weekend it was returned to me with interest![up]
The 473mi trip took a little over 16hrs to complete and it is a trip I will remember the rest of my life!
