I picked up a Blast about 5 years ago as a first bike. Treated me very well and I like the bike a lot. Now, 5 years later, the transmission has completely gone bad on me (bike doesn't go above 3rd gear) and the bike has sat in a garage for a year since it broke down. I'm debating whether to fix it up and keep it or simply sell it cheaply and buy a new bike (leaning towards a used Monster).

I don't know how the pricing on new transmissions, mechanics, etc. goes or how much I can expect if I sell the bike and that's a huge factor that'll go into my decision. Can anyone help out?

What's your definition of cheap enough? It's an '07 located in NJ. A little over 13k miles.

Tinker with it when your board, turn it into something that it was never meant to be, and I dont mean a coffee table!:D

You need to go thru the primary and do a shifter pawl adjustment to fix the shifting problem.
You in north or south NJ?

Central Jersey. Yes, it exists :) Exit 9 off the turnpike. I honestly don't know what a good price for the bike is which is why I was hoping to get offers...

If it's a shifter pawl adjustment to fix the shifting problem you can get a decent price.
An if you really do have a bad trans where you have to split the cases to fix not going to get a good price.

So as is taking a chance on it cheap.

For anyone suggesting sell, what's a fair price I can ask? For anyone suggesting fix, any leads on a mechanic in the area? Just trying to get price points before I commit one way or another.
