Who has kevlar jeans and what do you think of them? Anyone ever go down while wearing them. Ive been thinking of a set for a while, but havent been able to find any to try on. i dont want to order them online first but i may have to.

A friend of mine just got rear ended at 70 on the highway and he is fine except for rash on his legs. His jacket, gloves, helmet, and boots all did the job. Regular jeans dont provide abrasion resistance. It kind of got me thinking about it again.

I wear Sliders Kevlar. I love them but they are hot in the summer. I do tend to not wear them if its above 85 cause they just get way to hot. I also have their kevlar khakis and cargo pants and like them all. I had a friend go down in their jeans and wore the denim off but the kevlar didn't burn away. He actually had the denim patched and still wears them. I like the Sliders cause they are affordable for my college student budget.

I'm pretty curious about these too. I mean are these the kind of jeans you can wear all day and walk around in after your commute? or is it better to change out of them for work?(making it those armored textiles a better deal)

---also on currently on a college budget :D

Wear them everyday for commuting to work .

which ones do you have?

how are the fit on those? im not a skinny jean guy but a lot of the motorcycle jeans look like they have a really loose cut to them.

I bought a pair of Sartso jeans from a guy on another forum I'm on. I love them. The legs are a little tight (I have pretty big thighs), but they stretch enough after wearing them to not be too much of a PITA. The crotch is also kind of high so throwing a leg over the bike is not as easy as when I'm in regular jeans. Again, not a huge problem, just have to pull them up a little before throwing a leg over.

I agree with the comment about being hot. This has been a pretty brutal summer and they were pretty hot. Once I started sweating they stuck to me a lot worse than regular jeans, but they fit more snug (not uncomfortable tho) than a normal pair of jeans so it was to be expected.

Overall, I feel much safer when I'm wearing them. I'd like to get a few more pairs and see if I could find a pair that fits a little bigger around my legs. They look very stylish so I wouldn't feel like I looked awkward if I wore them off the bike in public. They are a little baggy around my shoes, but all the extra material is so they still stay down and cover your ankles when you're mounted on the bike. I think they were a great investment for me. I'd recommend anyone to grab a pair. I'll have to check into the Sliders brand.

I wear a 42-44 in regular jeans (I know I'm a big guy) and I have 42's for the Sliders so they are sized a little different then jeans. They are a little bigger then jeans so if you wear a 40 comfortable then a 38 should work. Once you find your size though the khakis and cargos are sized the exact same way as the jeans. I find them on closeout occasionally and they are about 70 bucks. I think they are normally about 80. They do run longer to account for your seating position so I wear 32's in length and they will drag walking around. You probably would want to go a size smaller in length also. I wear mine all day long and they are comfortable. You do feel the kevlar sometimes and may have to do an adjustment when you sit on a chair for example (mainly in the knees). They do have slots for knee armor and you can buy some seperately. I dont run them since I usually wear them all day at school. They are fine in higher temps if you are moving but I spend time outside walking around campus which is why I tend not to wear them over 85.
I found some pics of me wearing the various ones. Don't mind what I'm doing but here they are.
This is the cargos.

i know the first thing i'm thinking about when i go down is where the heck my change went :p

I also have been thinking about kevlar jeans, but I think I'd rather have something like these that I could wear over regular jeans, shorts, khakis, whatever

If i wore protective pants, I would choose "jimijeans"

His posts are so padded, they have got to provide the most protection[smirk]

Dragginjeans here...about to go on a ride with them right now. I've never gone down in them, but I trust em more than regular jeans. But not as much as my full leathers.[smirk]

They work alright, I found in my last meeting with the tar at high speed that they pulled up and damaged my boots and knee's a bit but still better and more comfortable than leathers and far far safer than regular jeans in my opinion.

Just gives you a bit more on the slide and you don't have to have melted and knotted denim scrubbed out of your legs as much.

i was actually just looking at getting a pair of riding jeans but my concern was how hot they are in the summer

Depending on fit they actually not too bad. I had a loos-ish pair and they were survivable in south african sun. Used to ride with leather and obviously cooler than that. If you go try a pair on you should be able to feel quite quickly if they gonna sweat or not.

my 2 cents. Hope it helps
