Hi all, I'm new to the forum and recently purchased a 03' XB9S it's in pretty bad shape so I gotta do my best to restore it. I managed. To get the gas cap out of the frame and come to find that the tabs that stop it from turning a certain direction are broken off? Looks like they were made of plastic and previous owner turned key in the wrong direction. Anyways I saw a post about a company called GRAND STAND DESIGNS but their website doesn't exist anymore and was wondering if anyone knew how to get one or had one they'd wanna sell?

Both GSD and EBR once offered a decent keyless frame fuel cap that fit all XB models. Appears both offerings disappeared several years ago. Welcome to the world of Buell.

HARLEY DAVIDSON PART # P0153.02A8 still available---OEM NEW cap with pair of matched keys. System has QTY 68.
List price $81.40
OEM cap is a wonderful piece if installed correctly and properly lubricated on occasion.

Alternative option: I'm using Slingshot Racing's keyless cap on my 08 XB12XT and so far it's doing the job. Mine needed a splash of light oil on the lock plunger at first to get it moving, no issues since. I did loctie in a grub screw to close off an unneeded vent in the cap, the tank is properly vented normally so no reason to put a potential leak in the cap assembly.

Thats good to know the slingshot one works. I have used the "CNC" brand keyless one they sell on e-bay with decent results. It's about that same price.

Thank you very much, I would prefer OEM on the cap just know parts can be hard to find, I don't really know what's interchangeable and what's not. Total noob here

Where exactly could I order this from? I looked at St. Paul harley/Buell but they only have the cap ignition and seat latch and it's 300

Yes Sir my pleasure. Link Cooter provided good choice for OEM. All XB fuel caps fit all XB models all years. The only maintenance they require is a once-a-year very light oiling of the sealing gasket and latching fingers and a short blast of lubricant down the key slot. OEM installed correctly when you can read BUELL seated on bike.

Thank you very much, I've been all over ebay typing in all sorts of things and I've never seen that listing!! But thank you again! Def would prefer OEM

Hi, is yours one of these these ones? All the no name ones look the same as these Slingshot ones, even the Ilmberger one; they're all from the same factory. Looks like 3 of the bolt holes have struts to the tank, and then 2 of them are just holes, why is that?

Hard to actually find any of these for sale in the UK though. I need one one with external bolts to mount my steering damper but can only find the £250 Rizoma ones.

You can take apart a XB fuel cap with a small pick, then you can remove the cylinder and knock out the wafers/tumblers and covert your keyed cap to keyless (but you need a screwdriver or something similar).
