keyless gas caps

i have been thinking about replacing my gas cap with a keyless gas cap... whats everyones ideas?i really liked the one i viewed from ilemberger, but any one would work. last night i went out for a ride and i thought i was going to break off the key!

EBR price is $129 where all other vendors are $205. You can only get black or polished but IMO well worth the cost saving.

Actually they (EBR) just got in black, silver, and a few blue, red, and gold. Don't dawdle, 'cause they didn't get many. (Mine arrives tomorrow.)

Well, they didn't have any Monday; I think they came in Tuesday, because that's when I ordered. You may need to call to order other than the black or "platinum."

I may think about getting one someday. Every time I try to open mine I feel like I'm about to snap the key off. Does anyone else's feel that way, or is it just mine?

Funny that you mention the breaking of the key...I did just that, last week. Had to wake the wife and have her bring me the spare key. She was not happy at 6:30 AM.

I have one on my bike from EBR. I wish I had done it sooner.

Anyone think of lubricating the lock. I know mine is just over a year old but it turns very easily. Personally I like the security of having my tank locked.

I like having it lock too, but I rarely leave my bike unattended anymore so I think I could get away with it. Normally I would've lubed it but it felt like it was the plastic of the cap rubbing against the frame, not the actual internals of the key slot that were making it tight, and that's not really something I can lube. I'll have pull the cap out later and actually give it a good looking over to see what's going on.

When I get home from BC I'll look at mine a bit closer. As I said mine is perfectly free to open and close. I have paid 50.00 for a billet cap for my sled but 200.00 is out there.

$129 @ EBR. Look at some of the other farkles we buy for the bikes. This one's got pretty good zoot factor.
