Was planning on going for a nice ride too! Was making a u-turn and my rear cylinder spark plug blew out. I lost power and she fell. ARGH!!! Checked the plugs and they are the original... Previous owner never changed em. **** was on my to-do list too!! She took some rash and broke a blinker, I had pucks on tho so the tank is safe at least.

Has anyone ever done a helicoil on there xb? Is it hard? I dont wanna go to a harley dealer and get raped in the face and butt at the same time.

Help! I've only had her for a couple of weeks.. I don't want this bike to be another problem in my life :[

yes it can be helicoiled and no it's not hard just time consuming.
i think there is a tread here with a step by step to help you out

There are special heli-coils specifically for spark plugs. They are solid and have knurls on the end of the thread to get a good bite. Be sure to use the ones with the correct reach.

Edit:Reach is the depth of thread.

Thanks! Do you think I'll have enough clearance for the rear cylinder, or will I have to rotate? From what Ive seen on the timesert how to video, it looks like a really simple process, what I dread though is having to rotate and spend like 10 hours removing/unplugging things and returning everything to normal. I get very impatient :S Im kinda hoping I can do everything with a ratchet swivel and extension bar. Any tips?

some members have done it with out the rotate.
tip:use some heavy grease in the flutes of the tap and reamer to catch any shavings, blow and vaccum out the cylinder.

if the plug has never been out then you would assume that it was stripped when installed at buell hq. I guess this can't be proved but thats a pretty major flaw. Anyone heard of this happening on others?. I would use a timesert kit as i had to do my swingarm drain plug and it worked a treat.
