license plate dimensions?

Just want to make sure it is 4" by 7". I currently dont have plates since I bought my bike late in the year and I ran off the enormous temp tags for 2 months. Now since it is garaged I am relocating the plate and want to make a cardboard cutout just to fab something up. I googled it and came up with 4" by 7".

yeah, US plates are essentially 4" x 7". i have a wireframe from a while ago while doing the same sort of mock up over the winter.

my dimensions came out to be 4.25" x 7.188" (4 1/2 x 7 3/16)

worst case scenario, just ask one of your buddies that has a bike to let you measure his tag...

BTW my tag is 4 1/8 inch x 7 3/8 inch. Your welcome biker 'buddy'.


(also, that wasn't intended to be gay, but it sure sounds that way in my head..)
