heres what I ended up doin. I welded together a piece that mounts off the 2 passenger heel guard bolts and I'm soon puttin on some license plate light bolts to illuminate it made by Street FX they are white LEDs. PN480807 cost about 17 dollars at my local HOTRODZ shop. Probably could get these from Cycle gear as well or any shop that has custom parts for motorcycles or accessories. Welded this up at a shop I used to work at has been on my bike for about 3k miles and haven't had a problem with bolts comin lose or anything.

Nice! Here's mine I just installed. got a fix it ticket with it tucked up under the tail, so I had to come up with something that made me happy and not clutter up the lines. i didn't like the back of the plate showing, so I bolted on the Maxpedition style bag to the back (front) of the plate. nice little tool kit/first aid kit. I just made a simple bracket and bolted it to my chain guard using the existing bolts since I removed the guard.
