Light scratches on plastics!

Ok guys. Let me throw another question at you... See where the meeting of the minds take me! I noticed today that after washing my lightning, a few super thin scratches! I went to the parts store and one of the guys told me to use plexi scratch remover.. I am alittle apprehensive on this fix. Another guy told me to use a buffer and compound. I am def. not going to do that since the paint is in the plastic. So what have you guys used?
