Hello everyone...I want to know what everyone uses to lock their bikes when they park it outside their homes or when they leave out while running errands or just cursing around.

Right now I park my bike at my friend's garage. Since its about 10 minute walk I get lazy and don't ride my bike as often I would like to. Anyway I am planning to bring the bike to my house and park it outside under a shaded area.
I am planning to get Kryptonite above ground anchor and chain to lock down my bike. Also plan to use a cover it up.

Check out the Xena xx-6 lock. I've been using it for about two months now, with a cover.

Masterlock padlock on the rear rotor; lock my helmet to the rotor and I never forget to take the lock off. I also lock the bars.

Pretty difficult to steal without lifting the entire bike off the ground.

Thanks everyone. I am waiting for the ground anchor and chain. Already have a decent cover I got from Ebay.
I'll look in to the disc rotor lock. More the merrier.

@gotjack7- I am not planning to keep my bike outdoor for entire year. During the winter months I'll be storing it at my friend's garage.

I use a cycle shell also and a disc lock, the cycle shell is great, easy to use, low maint.

This is GREAT!

One pretty good sollution is to mount dog GPS to the bike. So you can hunt the suckers down, and talk to them....

Got this today:

R100 ($US10). Alarm activated when lock is moved.

I park behind locked gate in driveway, but you never know...

Translation on packaging a bit dodgy...:p

I've had good success with good-quality disc locks. A cover is also good for deterring some crimes of opportunity.

Something else I have done on every bike I have ever owned is to tuck a little toggle switch, which interrupts the ignition circuit, somewhere hidden & inaccessible (like under the seat). This saved me once when I returned to my bike to find the lock had been cut, the key ignition had been broken, and the only thing that kept the thief from riding away was that little switch they couldn't find! :D
