Hello all, I ride my XB12R to work everyday. I am in need of some new tires that will last as long as possible. I don't use bike for corner carving or anything like that. What are your suggestions?

I had Conti Road Attacks on my 12R. They lasted 7000 miles or so. If I had more corners on the way to work, they would go longer. They have a HUGE flat spot on them.

I also run angels. Got ~2000mi on them so far and you wouldn't know it.

Same here, i got 2500 miles on my Angels with no sign of wear , compared to my Diablos on my other bike at the same mileage. A friend of mine has Angels and at 7500 miles they still looked practically new.

I have not used them, but michilen pilot road 2 seem to be a favorite for sport touring. They just release the 3 a month or so ago.

The pilot road 2's have been out for a while, they just released the pilot road 3's. I have about 8500 miles on the road 2's, still tons of life left. I expect to get about 13-15k out of them. The road 3's are supposed to have even better life, and better wet grip, than the road 2's.

another thing to consider claytucc is the road/roads you ride on, a surface that is not as smooth will eat your rubber quicker due to being a more abrasive surface as well as how aggressive you are while riding...
;)

all depends on riding style and the roads ive never gotten more than 3500 miles out of any rear tire.

I am riding mostly freeways......I might take the bike out every so often to hit the mountain roads but mostly commuting. I usually take the Harley out for weekend rides.

Pilot Road 2's!!! I got 14k on mine. Yes they need replaced but I can still get another 3k out of them. Best cornering tire Ive ever owned. They are on sale right now because the PR3's are coming out soon.

Pilot Road 2's!!!

thats what I was thinking of going with when I need new rubber this summer,(kinda biased towards Michelins too) the roads where I now live are much more coarse then those of Vancouver Island, what I've read aboot the PR2's makes me feel as if they would hold up better out here...

The new pilot road 3's are supposed to have even better longevity...I'll without a doubt be going with either the road 2 or 3's when my current road 2's finally wear out. Love these tires!

The dunlop road smart is also a good 2 compound tire i got 10k out of a rear 15k on the front and looks like it will make it tiil the rear is worn out agian.

Just bought a Road2 for the rear of my bike 141.99 to the door from JakeWilson: http://www.jakewilson.com/productDe...3&prodFamilyId=20820&listingId=&sizeAttr=5275 can't beat that deal for nothin'. I've heard nothing but positives from a number of sites about them [up] I'm hoping to get 10,000mi out of mine as that's what I plan on putting on the Buell this year and I don't want to have to buy more than 1 set of tires a season.

I ride pure powers on my 1125r 3 sets last year LMAO.
sportbike track gear and sport bike track time have great prices on michelin

I've used Dunlop Roadsmarts in the past with good luck.
I'm trying out Pirelli Angels now and like the performance, can't say anything about longevity yet. They look cool as well.

I think any of the major brand's sport-touring tire is a good choice.

The only tire I've used that I didn't like is the Shinko Raven the PO put on it.
The shinko doesn't grip very well in cold or wet conditions.
